New Recall Reveals Number of Tesla Cybertrucks Sold in Canada Since $30,000 Price Hike

A new Transport Canada recall for the Tesla Cybertruck has once again revealed how many of the stainless-steel electric pickups have been sold in Canada — giving us a clearer picture of the truck’s real-world popularity among Tesla Canada customers.

More Than 2600 Cybertrucks have been sold in Canada

As of October 2025, 2,629 Cybertrucks have been sold in Canada, according to the latest recall filing. This marks only the second time official figures have been disclosed, following the 1,995 units reported in March 2025 as part of an earlier recall related to the truck’s roof cant rail.

That means just 634 additional units were sold in the past seven months — averaging about 90 sales per month.

While that pace isn’t particularly strong, it’s still notable considering the Tesla Cybertruck’s price has surged by more than 20% this year. The All-Wheel Drive variant now starts at $139,990 CAD, up from $114,990, while the high-performance Cyberbeast starts at $167,990 CAD — a steep $30,000 increase from its previous price of $137,990.

Price Increases Because of Tariffs

These higher prices were introduced in April 2025, less than a month after the March recall, largely due to the 25% tariffs imposed on vehicles imported from the United States.

Although the price hike has clearly cooled demand, the fact that Tesla still maintains consistent monthly sales suggests a strong, loyal customer base in the Canadian EV market. Despite the Cybertruck’s bold and polarizing design, and the broader discussions around Elon Musk’s public image, Canadian drivers continue to show strong interest in Tesla’s futuristic lineup.

For Canadian car shoppers comparing used Teslas to new models like the Cybertruck, the recent recall data offers an interesting contrast. As new Tesla prices climb, more buyers are turning to used Tesla options — especially popular choices such as the Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y — to enjoy premium EV technology at more affordable prices.

The recall that revealed these new figures involved a software issue causing the Cybertruck’s front parking lights to be brighter than allowed under Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations. Tesla has already fixed the issue through an over-the-air (OTA) software update, so no service appointment is required.
